Fundraiser for Realtors® Association of Maui Community Foundation, Inc. by Tim Dain ·

I've chosen this nonprofit because I’ve witnessed the good that REALTORS® do in communities. You might think that Maui has received its fair share of charitable support but you would be wrong. It’s now, months after the disaster that the real work of rebuilding begins. This is when the people that care about the community continue the work away from the national spotlight. Many of those people are REALTORS®. Their tireless contributions aimed at community building, rescue organizations, and disaster relief across the country are simply unparalleled. When you want to help a community rebuild after a natural disaster find a REALTOR® organization. They know the community and care about the people that call it home.
The REALTORS® Association of Maui Community Foundation (RAMCF) was incorporated in 2007 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the goal of enhancing the educational experiences and opportunities of students throughout Maui County. In 2018, the Foundation added housing concerns to its charitable objectives. The Foundation is generously supported by members of the REALTORS® Association of Maui and the local community.

At almost $5k raised I realize this will end far from the fundraising goal and it’s ok. I’d love to hit the goal but it wasn’t the only goal. The other goal was to enlist the help of friends and colleagues to tell the stories of real estate professionals charitable acts.
I know that many of you, your members, and the professionals you’re connected to contribute in a myriad of ways at a local level. The real estate industry is one of the most charitable and the individuals tha...t make up our industry are often the very fabric of their local community.
At a time when negative press is flooding the public news outlets it’s important we tell the other stories of our industry.
I’m proud and humbled that so many responded by donating money and sharing the effort. Rob Hahn dedicated a podcast, Greg Robertson posted on Vendor Alley, Mitch Robinson and team at realestatenews updated their historic stories of charity to include link to raise money for Maui. I also believe that Marilyn Wilson will write something soon and 1000watt will put something in Friday Flash.
NorthstarMLS is going to seek out and tell local stories in the local media around Minnesota. We will share these on social media under #tellREstories. I encourage you to do the same and feel free to use the #. I believe that together we can tell the untold stories. The ones about community building, disaster support, and the members behind those efforts.
Cheers and thank you!
