Last week I visited the high school for girls that many of you donated to build in Dowarian Village, Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir. This is the third school you have helped fund in Kashmir that I have been able to visit in person.
Traveling on Neelum Road came with its challenges, there were land slides along the way and certain stretches of the road were in visible and close range of the Line of Control. But these are some of the daily challenges communities in Kashmir live with.
Thanks to your donations, there are over 300 girls enrolled in Dowarian Girls High School. The community members and parents expressed their immense gratitude to all donors as these girls had never been in a proper school building before since the old school building had swept away in the 2010 floods. The previous two schools you donated to build had been destroyed in the 2005 earthquake. ...
Cumulatively, $105k was raised that helped build the last three schools, which have about 800 children collectively who now have proper infrastructure that includes the school building, furniture, bathrooms, and science and computer labs. Your donations have made huge and life-changing impact on these children!
I ask for your tax deductible donations once again, to build one more school, since there are still more than 600 schools that were destroyed during the 2005 earthquake and the 2010 floods that were never rebuilt due to limited financial resources in remote villages in Kashmir.
