Payment method verification with Meta Pay

We may ask you to verify your payment method with Meta Pay to help keep your account secure, prevent unauthorised access to your financial information or to comply with various federal and state laws.
Verifying your payment method
When you send or receive money in Meta Pay, we may ask you to verify your payment method with one or more of the following verification methods:
  • Meta Pay PIN
  • Payment method verification code
  • CVV security code
  • Confirmation code via phone or email
Confirming a payment method with your Meta Pay PIN
For this verification method, we'll ask you to enter the 4-digit Meta Pay PIN that you may have created when setting up Meta Pay. You'll need to enter your PIN before you can continue making payments.
Verifying your payment method with a verification code
For this verification method, we'll create a temporary transaction with a payment method verification code on your default card's transaction history. You'll need to leave Meta Pay and visit your default card's app or website to retrieve the verification code. You'll then need to return to Meta Pay and enter the verification code to continue making payments.
Confirming a payment method with your CVV security code
CVV is a security feature in the form of three digits on the back of your card to the right of the signature strip, or four digits on the front of your card. It can also be called CSC, CVV2, CVC or CVC2.
For this verification method, we'll ask you to enter the CVV security code found on your credit or debit card. You'll need to enter this code before you can continue making payments.
Confirming a payment method via phone or email
To confirm your contact details, we'll send a 6-digit confirmation code to your phone or email address. You'll need to enter your 6-digit security code before you can continue making payments.
