Group apps can see posts and comments in the group from the past 90 days, but they can't see your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote unless you allow access. Apps also can't post as you unless you allow access. Only group admins can add or remove apps from the group.
Group apps are third-party apps that may add tools and features to a group. They can only be added by a group admin. Once they've been added to a group, apps can see group posts and comments. An app can't see your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote unless you allow access. Apps also can't post as you unless you allow access.
Bear in mind that:
  • Even if you don't allow an app to see your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote, details you include in posts or comments could still reveal your identity.
  • If you remove an app's access to your name, profile picture and which posts and comments you wrote and stay in the group, the app may still have any info that you previously shared and will see your future posts and comments but without your name and profile picture.
If you don't want an app to collect any of your info, you have the following options:
  • If you granted the app access to see your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote, you can remove its access (see below for instructions).
  • If you didn't grant access or removed access to your name, profile picture and which posts and comments you wrote, and you also want the app to stop seeing your posts and comments, you can delete your past posts and comments and/or stop posting and commenting in the group.
If an app appears in Apps you have allowed access, it's because you've allowed it access to see your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote. Apps that appear below Apps you can allow access have access to the group's posts and comments, but not to your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote.
Allow, edit or remove group apps access to your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote
  1. Go to facebook.com/groups and select your group.
  2. Click more on the right.
  3. Click Group apps and select the app you'd like to grant access to. If Group apps doesn't appear, it's because there aren't any apps in the group.
    • To allow an app access to your info: Below Apps you can allow access, select an app. Select what info you'd like to allow the app access to and click Allow access. If this section doesn't appear, it's probably because you've already allowed every app in the group to access your info.
    • To edit an app's access to your info: Click an app under Apps you have allowed access. Select what info you'd like to make changes to that the app can access and click Save changes. If this section doesn't appear, it's because you haven't allowed any group apps to access your personal info.
    • To remove an app's access to your info: Click an app under Apps you have allowed access and click Remove access. The app will no longer be able to collect info about your name, profile picture or which posts and comments you wrote in the group. Bear in mind that the app will still have any info you previously shared and will see your future posts and comments but without your name and profile picture.
