Group admins and moderators can remove or ban someone from a group. Removed members will have to request to join the group again if they wish to rejoin. People who are banned won't be able to find the group in search or see any of its content, and they can't be invited to the group again.
Remove or ban someone
- Go to facebook.com/groups and select your group.
- Click Members or People below the cover photo.
- Find the person that you want to remove or ban.
- Click
next to their name and select Remove member or Ban from group.
- Click to tick the box next to Delete recent activity if you'd like to delete their last seven days of posts, comments, reactions, polls and pending member invitations.
- If you're removing the member and you'd also like to ban them, click Ban [name].
- To prevent someone that you banned from joining again under a different account, select Ban [name’s] future accounts. Note that Facebook may not be able to detect all new accounts.
- Click Confirm.
If you've already banned someone and then later decide to prevent them from joining again under a different account, go to your group's Members or People section, unban them, then ban them again and select Ban [name’s] future accounts. Note that Facebook may not be able to detect all new accounts.
Unban someone
- Go to facebook.com/groups and select your group.
- Click Members or People below the cover photo.
- Click Unban next to the name of the person you'd like to unban.
- Click Unban to confirm.
Effect on additional profiles
If someone has additional profiles and you banned any of their profiles:
- They can still participate in the group with any of their profiles that are already in the group.
- They can't see, join or participate in the group with any of their profiles that are not already in the group.
If a group member has additional profiles and you removed any of their profiles, this has no effect on any of their other profiles, whether or not those profiles are already in the group.
Note that up to two profiles from the same account can join/participate in the same group. Learn more about additional profiles in groups.
