Create an online event on Facebook

Once you've created an event, you can't change the privacy settings. Example: You can't change a private event to a public event.
Create an online event
  1. From your Feed, click eventsEvents in the left menu. You may have to click See more first.
  2. Click + Create new event, then enter event details, such as the event name and start date and time.
  3. Click Is it in person or virtual?, then select Virtual.
  4. Choose a type of virtual event:
    • Facebook Live: Use if your event has more than 50 guests.
    • External link: Use if your event is off Facebook. Include anything that guests may need to know in the event description.
    • Other: Make sure that you include clear instructions on how to participate.
  5. Click Who can see it? to select your privacy setting. Remember, you can't change this setting after you've created the event.
  6. Add more event details, such as co-hosts and additional settings.
  7. Click Create event.
