You can edit basic information on your profile, such as gender, pronouns, contact info and relationships.
Some information on Facebook is always public. Learn more about public information on Facebook.
Edit your personal info
Note: You can choose who sees your gender identity, but the pronouns Facebook uses to refer to you will be public.
- On your computer, log in to Facebook.
- Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
- Click About, then click Contact and basic info.
- Click
or select
to add information.
- Add or change the information that you'd like to edit.
- Make changes to the privacy of your information by selecting the current privacy setting (e.g. Public, Friends or Only me).
- Click Save.

Change personal info across Accounts Centre
You can also edit some personal information (e.g. your contact info and date of birth) across your accounts in Accounts Centre.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right, then click Settings and privacy.
- Click Settings.
- Click Accounts Centre, then click Personal details.
- Click Contact info or Date of birth to update this information for your accounts.

Other info that you can edit
- Edit your name.
- Change your relationship status.
- Add or edit your email address.
- Add a mobile phone number.
