Updates to grey accounts on Facebook
If you continue managing your Pages or groups with a grey account, you risk losing access to them once the grey account has been automatically disabled.
A grey account is an account used to log in to Facebook that is not associated with a personal profile or account. People used to be able to manage their Pages with grey accounts before we required individuals to have a personal profile in order to create, manage or run ads on a Page.
Grey accounts don't have access to the same security features as standard accounts. Because of this, we are disabling grey accounts and requiring grey account administrators to use their standard Facebook account for improved security and account safety on Facebook.
If you use a grey account, you have the following options:
- Use your existing standard account that represents you as an individual to continue using Facebook. You can create a new account if you don't have one already.
- Change ownership of any Pages or groups you manage by granting your standard account full access to the Page or group. If your grey account is the sole admin of any Pages, those Pages will be removed.
- Manage roles for a Page.
- Make someone an admin or moderator of a Facebook group.
- Download your information from your grey account.
- Delete your grey account or wait for it to be automatically disabled.
Note:
- If you're trying to invite a user to be an admin of your Page, some users may not be discoverable when searching for them using an email address because of their privacy settings.
- You can also search for a user on desktop using their Facebook profile URL.
- If you send a page admin invite for a Page, but the recipient doesn't receive it, they can accept the invitation from the Page or from their Page invitations.
