Is my avatar public?
Your avatar is public, so it can be seen by anyone on or off Facebook. This means that people can view other people's avatar in the same way that they can view names and profile pictures. You can always edit or delete your avatar.
Can other people share or interact with my avatar?
You can control who can use or share your avatar. By default, your avatar can be shared or interacted with by your friends. This means that you can now use your avatar to express yourself in new ways with friends.
To update your avatar privacy settings:
  1. From Facebook, click on your profile picture in the top right.
  2. Click Settings and privacy, then click Avatars.
  3. Click Who can share or interact with your avatar?
  4. From here, you can choose between these options:
    • Everyone (anyone can view and use your avatar on Facebook and Messenger)
    • Friends (everyone you are friends with)
    • Only me
