Clear your recent Facebook searches

To clear your recent searches in Accounts Centre:
  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right, then click Settings and privacy.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Accounts Centre, then click Your information and permissions.
  4. Click on the account that you'd like to clear recent searches for.
  5. Click next to a recent search to remove it from your search history.
Note: Not everyone will be able to access this setting in Accounts Centre at this time.
To clear your recent searches from your search bar:
  1. Click the search bar in the top left of any Facebook page to see your recent searches.
  2. Click Edit in the top right of the drop-down menu.
  3. Next to Search history, click Clear searches.
Note: If your searches still appear after taking these steps, you may have to log out of Facebook. When you log back in, your searches will be cleared.
When you search for something on Facebook, your search history helps us show you better results when you search. Remember, only you can see your searches.
