Check whether a Facebook group is public or private

You can see if a group is private or public below the name of the group.
  • Public: anyone can see who's in the group and what they post.
  • Private: only members can see who's in the group and what they post.
To see if a group is private or public:
  1. Go to facebook.com/groups and select your group.
  2. You can find the privacy of the group below the group's name in the top left.
