Top commenter badges are no longer available.
You can become eligible to display a rising fan or top fan badge for a Page or profile by being one of the most active fans or commenters.
- Rising fans have earned a badge by starting to frequently engage with a Page or profile by liking or reacting to content, and commenting on or sharing posts. They can be on their way to earning a top fan badge with continued engagement.
- Top fans have earned a badge by continuously engaging with a Page or profile by liking or reacting to content, and commenting on or sharing posts.
Accept a fan badge
Once notified of your rising fan or top fan status, select Accept badge on the notification to accept it. You can only qualify for one badge type at a time for every creator that you earn a badge for.
If you accept a rising fan or top fan badge for a Page or profile, or if you selected Turn on badges to earn badges for multiple creators at once, the badge(s) will appear next to your name when you comment on their posts. The Page or profile manager may recognise rising fans or top fans in a public appreciation post that also displays your profile photo and name.
The badge is public, but it will only appear next to your name on the Page or profile that you're a rising fan or top fan of, not in your other interactions on Facebook.
Remove a fan badge
You can remove a top fan or rising fan badge at any time.
To stop displaying the badge, find a comment that you've made on a post by the Page or profile. Click the badge next to your name, select Manage badge and toggle the badge on or off.
How rising fan and top fan badges work
If you've accepted the rising fan or top fan badge:
- The badge will appear next to your name in any comments that you post on the Page or profile that you're a rising fan or top fan of, including past comments. The badge will not appear in your other interactions on Facebook.
- If you accept a rising fan or top fan badge, you automatically follow the Page or profile that the badge is for.
- If you later choose not to show the badge, your comments may no longer display the badge. It may take some time for the changes to take effect.
- Rising fans and top fans are regularly updated, so it's possible to lose your fan badge.
- Rising fans and top fans may gain access to exclusive perks. If you lose your rising fan or top fan badge, you'll no longer have access to these perks.
- People who manage the Page or profile can choose to remove individual rising fan or top fan badges, or turn off the badges for their Page or profile. If this happens, you will lose your badge.
