About Meta ads placements

Some ad placements are still in development and may not yet be available in certain geographic locations.

The places where you can run your ads are called placements. Depending on the objective that you choose when you create your campaign, your ads can appear on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Meta Audience Network. Available placements are determined by your ad type and settings. Not all placements are available for every ad.

Multiple placements increase the number of people who can see your ad and can improve ad results. Adding more placements does not increase the cost of your ad. Ads created by boosting a post from your Facebook Page or profile will be opted in to multi-advertiser ads by default. You can opt out in Ads Manager.

We group placements by how people experience your ads across Meta technologies. For example, people have similar experiences with your Stories ads on Facebook, Messenger and Instagram.

We recommend that you choose the Advantage+ placements (previously known as automatic placements) setting for your ads because it allows our delivery system to make the most of your budget. Learn more. However, you can Choose ad placements instead. Learn more about the benefits of Meta Advantage+ placements.
