Airlines can now better target travellers with ads on Facebook and Instagram

"Today, the social network announced it’s rolling out dynamic ads for flights. The updates, which arrive just as the travel season gets underway for the summer, will let marketers target a person across devices based on route, schedule and price (for example, if a consumer searches for flights to California over Memorial Day, an airline could re-target the person with an ad for that flight). And it’s likely no surprise to hear it’s happening increasingly on mobile. According to new research from Facebook IQ, 93 per cent of conversations happening on mobile devices last summer."

"Warner said that data from summer 2016 showed that 93 per cent of conversations on Facebook and Instagram were taking place on mobile, with travel being one of the top topics discussed. Facebook IQ research has also demonstrated how 85 per cent of travel is planned on a mobile device, and when people start planning their trips, 50 per cent reach for their phones first."
