Commerce eligibility requirements
In order to sell on Facebook and Instagram as a business, your Facebook account and Page, or your Instagram professional account, must meet the following requirements:
1. Comply with our policies
Your Facebook account and Page must comply with Meta's Terms of Service, Commercial Terms and Community Standards, and your Instagram professional account must comply with Instagram's Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
In addition, lack of compliance with our policies, including our Merchant Agreement, Seller Policies, Commerce Policies, Community Feedback Policy, Advertising Standards and Pages, Groups and Events Policies, may result in loss of access to Facebook and Instagram, commerce features or may lead to your account being disabled.
2. Represent your business and your domain
Your Facebook Page or Instagram professional account must contain product listings that are available for direct purchase from your website or checkout on Facebook or Instagram.
If you are directing buyers from Facebook and Instagram to a website in any supported market, you must provide us with the single non-shortened domain through which you sell. Your Facebook Page or Instagram professional account must represent the shop or website associated with the domain provided. To confirm that you own your domain, we may require you to complete our domain verification process.
3. Be located in a supported market
Your Facebook Page or Instagram professional account must be located in one of our supported markets. Supported markets for Facebook can be found here. Supported markets for Instagram can be found here.
Checkout on Facebook and Instagram is currently only supported in the United States. We will update our supported market lists if and when new locations are added.
4. Demonstrate trustworthiness
Your Facebook account and Page or Instagram professional account must have demonstrated trustworthiness, including through an authentic, established presence. This may also include maintaining a sufficient follower base.
To help us confirm that your account belongs to a legitimate business, we may ask you to verify your business information or identity.
5. Provide accurate information and follow best practices
Product information listed on Facebook and Instagram must not contain misleading pricing and availability information. Your refund and return policies must be clearly displayed and easily accessible from your website or on Facebook or Instagram.
Failure to satisfy these requirements at any time may lead to loss of access to Facebook and Instagram, commerce features or may lead to your account being disabled.
Commerce surfaces include, but are not limited to, Shops on Facebook and Instagram, Facebook Marketplace and live shopping videos.
