About collection ads

Collection is an ad format that encourages people to move from discovery to purchase, featuring a larger cover image or video, paired with a group of smaller product images from a product set in your catalogue.

When someone taps on the cover image or video from your collection ad in Feed, a full-screen Instant Experience will open and enable them to discover, browse and purchase products and services. When someone taps on the smaller product images, they will navigate directly to product detail pages on your website. However, this may differ depending on the ad placement.

You can use collection ads to:

  • Drive product discovery: Pair video or imagery with relevant products to engage people.
  • Deliver a seamless browsing experience on mobile devices: Use the full-screen Instant Experience to encourage people to browse and learn more about your products or services.
  • Convert demand into sales: Encourage people who are interested to continue to purchase on your website or app.
  • Show off your product catalogue: Use Advantage+ catalogue to include images of multiple products or services, showcase unique products and prompt multiple purchases.

You can deliver collection ads across multiple placements including Facebook Feed, Facebook Stories, Facebook Reels, Instagram Feed, Instagram Stories and Instagram Reels. The number of products shown under the cover image or video may change depending on the selected placement.
