Create block lists

To view partner-publisher lists in the Brand safety and suitability hub, you need a Business Account.

Some features are being introduced gradually. They may not be available to you yet.

There are a few ways to create a block list.

How to create a block list using partner-publisher lists in the Brand safety and suitability hub

  1. Go to Brand safety and suitability hub.
  2. Click Partner-publisher lists in the left-hand menu.
  3. Select a placement type to see its publisher list. Your options include:
    • Facebook in-stream videos: Published videos and live videos on Facebook
    • Ads on Facebook Reels: Short-form videos on Facebook
    • Audience Network: External apps in Audience Network
    • Ads on Instagram Reels: Short-form videos on Instagram
    • Instagram profile feed: Instagram profiles that signed up for feed monetisation
  4. Click to check the box next to the username of the partner-publisher you don't want your ads to appear within or alongside.
  5. When you've selected all the partner-publishers you want to block, click Add to block list.
  6. A Choose a block list pop-up window will appear. Click the Select a block list drop-down to add the selected partner-publisher(s) to an existing block list or click Create new block list to create a new block list. If you choose to create a new block list, give your block list a name and select an ad account using the drop-down menu.
  7. When you've finished, click Save.

How to create a block list using delivery reports in the Brand safety and suitability hub

  1. Go to Brand safety and suitability hub.
  2. Click Delivery reports in the left-hand menu.
  3. Select a placement type to see its delivery report. Your options include:
    • Facebook in-stream videos: Published videos and live videos on Facebook
    • Ads on Facebook Reels: Short-form videos on Facebook
    • Audience Network: External apps in Audience Network
    • Ads on Instagram Reels: Short-form videos on Instagram
    • Instagram profile feed: Instagram profiles that signed up for feed monetisation
  4. Check the box next to the publishers you don't want your ads to appear within or alongside and then, click Add to block list.
  5. A Choose a block list pop-up window will appear. Click the Select a block list drop-down to add the selected partner-publisher(s) to an existing block list or click Create new block list to create a new block list. If you choose to create a new block list, give your block list a name and select an ad account using the drop-down menu.
  6. When you've finished, click Save.

How to create a block list by downloading the partner-publisher list

  1. Create a document using Excel, Notepad or any software which enables saving as .csv or .txt.
  2. Go to Brand safety and suitability hub.
  3. Click Partner-publisher lists in the left-hand menu.
  4. Select a placement type to see its publisher list. Your options include:
    • Facebook in-stream videos: Published videos and live videos on Facebook
    • Ads on Facebook Reels: Short-form videos on Facebook
    • Audience Network: External apps in Audience Network
    • Ads on Instagram Reels: Short-form videos on Instagram
    • Instagram profile and reels feeds: Ads within a profile's feed or reels tab
  5. Click Download this list.
  6. Paste the URLs you want to block delivery for from the downloaded list into column A. To block a publisher on certain placements, include all their URLs that are Facebook Page URLs, Instagram account URLs and any app store URLs.
    • To block a Facebook Page for the Facebook in-stream video placement, add URLs in the format www.facebook.com/ plus the ID of the Page. To find the Facebook ID of each Page, visit the Page, click About and copy the Page ID. For example, Page ID 12345678 would be listed in your block list as https://www.facebook.com/12345678.
  7. A block list can't contain more than 10,000 lines due to platform technical constraints. Try using multiple files.
  8. Save the block list with a name you'll remember.

The next step is to upload your block list in Business Manager.
