A: Your certification is valid for one (1) year from the day earned.
A: The Media Planning Professional exam consists of the following sections. The percentages reveal how much each section will count towards your final mark. Use this breakdown to guide your studying and develop the skills that are most critical to earning a certification and advancing your career. Assessing business goals (22%)
This section will test your ability to:
- Interpret a brief to build and defend a recommended media plan.
- Propose a campaign scheduling strategy that supports a client brief.
- Determine expected campaign performance based on budgets, historical performance or industry research for a given scenario.
This section will test your ability to:
- Recommend a campaign objective and event optimisations to meet business goals.
- Recommend an activation strategy based on the auction and available buying types.
- Recommend targeting solutions to reach the intended audience.
- Recommend placements that support campaign goals.
- Recommend message delivery solutions to achieve campaign goals.
This section will test your ability to:
- Analyse the relationship between campaign results and business objectives to adjust future campaigns.
- Leverage and explain experiment results and make recommendations for future campaigns.
- Identify the purposes of advanced measurement reports and when to use them.
- Determine the appropriate measurement solutions for a given scenario based on business goals and advertiser limitations.
This section will test your ability to:
- Identify privacy control issues with campaigns.
- Identify a client's brand safety needs and incorporate them into the recommended plan.
- Distinguish the different ad policies, understand their impact on campaign planning and propose alternatives.
A: You have two options for recertification:
Option 1: Complete online courses and assessment (refresh).
If you choose this option, please note the following:
- The refresh option is available prior to the certification expiry date only.
- The online courses are self-paced and should take approximately two hours to complete.
- Both the courses and assessment are unproctored and only available online.
- The assessment is pass or fail.
- You may retake the assessment after a 24-hour period. Retakes are unlimited, as long as your certification hasn't lapsed.
To start your refresh, go to CertMetrics and click Schedule an exam. Next to Meta Certified Media Planning Professional, click Refresh.
Option 2: Retake the exam.
If you choose this option, please note the following:
- The exam has 60 questions and is 105 minutes long.
- The passing score is 700 out of 1,000.
- There is a five-day waiting period to retake the exam if you don't pass.
To retake the exam, go to CertMetrics and click Schedule an exam. Next to Meta Certified Media Planning Professional, click Schedule my exam.
Once you've met the requirements for recertification, you'll receive an email confirming your recertification and your new certification expiry date.
