This exam is for creatives who want to build professional Meta Spark experiences for Facebook and Instagram, who have transferable skills, such as 3D, 2D, animation and coding, and who seek to build trust with employers or seek to become employable.

Qualifications
- Successfully published at least three Meta Spark world effects using plane tracker and target tracker.
- Advanced mastery of Meta Spark Studio functionality and features, including basic JavaScript or scripting competency.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant processes and policies to successfully publish effects.
Best practices
- Assess your readiness by completing the practice exam at least once prior to registering for the exam.
- If you don't pass the practice exam, thoroughly study the Meta Spark curriculum under Study materials. Complete the practice test again to check your skill level.
- At least 55% of those who passed the exam said they'd spent more than five hours studying for the exam.
- Gain hands-on experience by creating advanced effects in Meta Spark Studio.

A: The Meta Spark Creator exam is made up of the following sections. The percentages reveal how much each section will count towards your final mark. Use this breakdown to guide your studying and develop the skills that are most critical to earning a certification and advancing your career. Assess, scope and design (16%)
This section will test your ability to:
- Apply knowledge required to scope an idea or brief within the bounds of capabilities, policies and best practices.
- Identify assets required for a specific implementation.
- Determine appropriate solutions to ensure the feasibility of an idea or brief.
- Determine the optimal user journey considering requirements and best practices.
This section will test your ability to:
- Use logic to generate, carry and receive signals.
- Instantiate, integrate and position assets within the scene hierarchy.
- Assign and configure scene object properties using the Inspector.
- Configure relationships between scene objects and assets.
- Configure project properties.
This section will test your ability to:
- Demonstrate ability to process signals inside a scene via script or patch.
- Implement user input within an effect.
- Determine how to test and debug logic.
- Propose how to implement logic to dynamically modify a scene.
- Suggest appropriate instructions for a specific experience.
This section will test your ability to:
- Optimise assets.
- Optimise logic.

This section will test your ability to:
- Ensure adherence to Meta Spark Policies and other relevant policies during the publishing process.
- Account for review cycle time variables during the publishing process.
- Demonstrate the ability to complete the publishing form and submit publishing assets.
- Identify how to upload and export effects.
- Address publishing review rejections.

A: If you have an active certification, you become eligible for recertification six months before your certification expiry date. You have two options to recertify during this period:
Option 1: Publish three effects.
If you choose to recertify by publishing three effects, your effects must meet the following requirements:
- The effects must be published by the Facebook profile that you use to log into Meta Spark Hub. This should be the same Facebook profile that you use for single sign-on (SSO) to your CertMetrics account. Effects published by Instagram or business accounts do not qualify for recertification. If you want to switch to your Facebook profile, head to the Meta Spark Hub profile menu, select Switch owner and select the correct Facebook profile.
- The effects must be published within your recertification period. Your recertification period is the six months before your certification expiry date. For example, if your certification expires on 31 December 2023, your recertification period is 1 July 2023 to 31 December 2023.
- At least one of your effects must be a world effect that uses plane tracker or target tracker.
- The effects must only be created by you, not in collaboration with others.
- As with all effects, the effects must comply with Meta Spark Policies.
Once three qualifying effects are published, your certification status will be automatically updated in CertMetrics. The update may take up to 48 hours.
Option 2: Retake the exam.
If you choose this option, please note the following:
- The exam has 50 questions and is 105 minutes long.
- The passing score is 700 out of 1,000.
- There is a 5-day waiting period to retake the exam if you don't pass.
- You have access to free study materials.
To retake the exam, go to CertMetrics and click Schedule an exam. Next to Meta Certified Meta Spark Creator, click Schedule my exam.
Once you've met the requirements for recertification, you'll receive an email confirming your recertification and your new certification expiry date.
