About Rights Manager

Rights Manager is our copyright management tool. You need to apply and be approved before using Rights Manager. Only people who have Facebook access or who have content access to your Pages can access Rights Manager in Meta Business Suite.
You can use Rights Manager to:
- Establish content ownership by uploading reference files.
- Grant permissions. You can grant permission for certain people, Pages or Instagram accounts to post your videos.
- Review matching videos that may contain content that you own the rights to.
It's important to note that:
- Rights Manager isn't the only way to monitor and protect your copyrighted content on Facebook and Instagram. You can also manage intellectual property without Rights Manager.
- Rights Manager can only be accessed through Meta Business Suite. You cannot use Rights Manager on mobile devices.
- Your content doesn't need to be published or publicly available on Facebook or Instagram to use Rights Manager. As long as it's uploaded as a reference file, Rights Manager will scan for matches.
- When you first upload a reference file, Rights Manager will retroactively scan for matching content posted in the 72 hours prior to your upload time. However, Rights Manager will also periodically conduct retroactive scans to detect matches from any date in the past, regardless of when you first uploaded a reference file.
- You shouldn't claim content that you don't own the rights to. You must exclude any parts of your video (segments) that you don't have exclusive rights to protect.
