Metrics for boosted posts

Based on the type of post you boosted, you will measure the success of your ad differently. The list below shows the main metric that you'll look for by post type:


Post with an image and/or text


Video post

  • Metric: ThruPlays
  • Description: The number of times your video was played to completion, or for at least 15 seconds.

Post with a call-to-action button

  • Metric: Link clicks
  • Description: The number of clicks on links within the ad that led to destinations or experiences, on or off Facebook. For ads promoting Instagram profile views, link clicks include clicks on the ad header or comments that led to the advertiser's profile.

Note: If your Page has the Send Message button, you should look at the messaging conversations started metric.


Job post


Event post with tickets

  • Metric: Link clicks
  • Description: The number of clicks on links within the ad that led to destinations or experiences, on or off Facebook. For ads promoting Instagram profile views, link clicks include clicks on the ad header or comments that led to the advertiser's profile.

Event post without tickets


Remember, boosted posts reach people who may engage with it, such as liking or commenting on it. If you want to accomplish a different goal, you may need to create a different ad. Learn more about ads you can create from your Page.
