Catalogue eligibility requirements for Shops on Facebook and Instagram

Beginning 10 August 2023, you'll no longer be able to host a shop on your Facebook or Instagram account or use Facebook product tagging in posts.Learn more.
When you set up a shop in Commerce Manager, you can select an existing catalogue to connect or create a new one. You can only connect one catalogue to your shop and you can't switch it later.
To select and use a catalogue for Shops on Facebook or Instagram, it needs to meet certain eligibility requirements. The catalogue must:
- Contain the correct type of items: Shops are for selling physical goods. You can't select a catalogue containing a different type of inventory, such as hotels, flights, destinations, vehicles or home listings.
- Not already be connected to a shop: You can't select a catalogue if it's already being used for another shop in Commerce Manager.
- Have the correct permissions: You must have full control of the business portfolio that the catalogue is in. You must also have permission to manage the catalogue.
- Contain at least one item: Your catalogue must contain at least one item up to a maximum of ten million. If not, add items or delete some items before you set up your shop.
- Contain valid product links: Check that product links in your catalogue lead to the item's specific product page on your business's website where people can learn more about or buy that exact item. Links must begin with http:// or https://. They must be hosted on your business's website domain, not a website domain claimed by another business or one owned by Facebook, such as a Facebook business Page. Links should use the same website domain that you added in Business settings under Brand safety > Domains. For example, if your domain is "jaspersmarket.com", your items should have links on this domain, such as "http://www.jaspersmarket.com/products/clothing/blue_shirt". Depending on how you manage your catalogue, edit items manually, edit your data feed or edit items on your partner platform to update their links and wait for any updates to sync to your catalogue.
