Troubleshoot email deliverability issues
Your confirmation email can take some time to arrive in your inbox. The email will come from notification@facebookmail.com with the subject title as "Confirm email for your Facebook authorisation".
If after an hour, you haven't received an email:
- Notifications
- Make sure that you haven't turned off email notifications. Check your email notification settings.
- Email domains
- Your email administrator must add facebookmail.com as a safe sender to your email host. Otherwise, people in your organisation won't be able to receive these emails.
- Email servers
- Your email administrator must whitelist these email origin servers' IP addresses to ensure that your organisation doesn't reject facebookmail.com emails:
$ nslookup -type=txt facebookmail.com text="v=spf1 ip4:66.220.144.128/25 ip4:66.220.155.0/24 ip4:66.220.157.0/25 ip4:69.63.178.128/25 ip4:69.63.181.0/24 ip4:69.63.184.0/25" "ip4:69.171.232.0/24 ip4:69.171.244.0/23 -all"
- Email client spam filters
- Even if your mail host accepts emails from the facebookmail.com domain, it's still possible that email clients such as Microsoft Outlook will mark an email as spam or junk. In this case, check the spam or junk folder to find the email. If possible, your email administrator is encouraged to centrally add fbworkmail.com as a safe sender.
- Work with your email administrator to add the facebookmail.com domain to the safe senders list in your organisation's email client.
- Configuring Microsoft Outlook Clutter and Focused Inbox
- To keep facebookmail.com emails from being lost in Microsoft Outlook Clutter, use the Exchange Online PowerShell cmdlet to create two transport rules:
> New-TransportRule -Name "Facebookmail Emails Bypass Focused Inbox" -SenderDomainIs "facebookmail.com" -SetHeaderName "X-MS-Exchange-Organization-BypassFocusedInbox" -SetHeaderValue "true" -Comments "Facebookmail email will go into the Inbox or Focused Inbox and not the Clutter or Other folder in Exchange Online"> New-TransportRule -Name "Facebookmail Emails Bypass Clutter" -SenderDomainIs "facebookmail.com" -SetHeaderName "X-MS-Exchange-Organization-BypassClutter" -SetHeaderValue "true" -Comments "Facebookmail mail will go into the Inbox or Focused Inbox and not the Other view in Exchange Online"
- Configuring Microsoft Exchange
- With Microsoft Exchange, you can whitelist the facebookmail.com email domain using the Set-MailboxJunkEmailConfiguration cmdlet.
