About instant forms

When you create a new lead campaign in Ads Manager, you can select Instant forms as your conversion location. Instant forms are designed to help you generate and qualify leads by asking people to fill in a form. Using instant forms, you can collect information from people who may be interested in your business or service without requiring them to leave Facebook or Instagram. There are different types of instant forms to help you achieve your business goals.

To make form submission easier and faster, contact information, such as name, email address and phone number, may be prefilled for the person if they have already provided their information to Meta.

Instant form typically includes four sections:

  • Introduction (optional): Description of your product or service to tell people what they'll receive in return after submitting the form.
  • Questions: Questions that you want people to answer on your instant form. You'll have to include at least one question on your form.
  • Privacy policy: A privacy policy is required to run lead ads on Facebook or Instagram, informing people what you will do with their information. This can be useful for building trust with your prospective and current customers. You can use an existing privacy policy URL that you might already have for your business or service.
  • Message for leads: Text and call-to-action buttons to encourage people to engage with your business after they submit their information.

The number of screens on your instant form may vary, depending on how much information you include.

You can use additional features in instant forms to help you better understand your potential customers and reach your business goals:

  • Custom questions: Allow you to get answers to the questions that are most important to your business or organisation.
  • Conditional logic: Creates a dynamic form that varies based on the lead's answer to your multiple choice questions. Conditional logic changes what question or landing page a person sees next based on their answer in real time.
  • Gated content: Allows people to view a PDF, JPEG or PNG directly from your instant form (up to 10 MB, 1080 pixels wide).

Note: You can only use the additional features in instant forms when you create the form in Ads Manager. When you create an instant form in the Meta Business Suite, you can only create a simple form to collect contact information.
