How to fix an "ad targeting does not match" error message

When you use an existing Facebook Page post to create an ad in Meta Ads Manager, your new ad's location and language targeting settings need to match the original post. If the location and language targeting don't match, you won't be able to publish the ad and may receive the following error message: Ad targeting does not match.

For example, to create an ad from an existing Page post with the "United Kingdom" set as the location and "English" set as the language, your new ad must also have "United Kingdom" set as the location and "English" as the language. If your location and language are not the same, edit your ad set audience to update your location and language settings.

If you've matched the targeting of your new ad with your existing Page post but still receive an error message, contact support. To contact support from Ads Manager, select the help icon in the bottom left, then select Contact support team on the right-hand side.
