About diagnostics in Facebook Events Manager

The Diagnostics tab in Meta Events Manager helps you find and resolve issues with your web, app or offline events. The Diagnostics tab also shows recommendations on ways to improve your event setup. Each issue in the Diagnostics tab has a description of the issue and steps you can take to resolve the issue.

There are three status tabs that you can click on within the diagnostics tab:

  • Active: If an issue has been detected in the last 24 hours and it's not marked as resolved or ignored, it will appear in Active.
  • Previously detected: If you don't interact with an issue within three days of first detection, the issue will appear in Previously detected. When the issue is moved to Previously detected, instructions to resolve the issue are removed. We suggest regularly monitoring your diagnostics issues and resolving them as soon as possible.
  • Ignored: If you clicked ignore on an issue, it will appear here. Ignored issues will stay here unless you choose to move them back to active.

Types of issues

To help you prioritise which issues to fix, they're categorised as either critical or a warning:

  • Critical issues have a red icon. Critical issues should be completed as soon as possible. They address high-priority changes that you should make to your event setup due to changes such as platform updates, evolving privacy regulations and Meta data policy violations.
  • Warnings have a yellow icon. Warnings address low-priority issues and highlight useful features that can help maximise the value of your Meta Business Tools. For example, if we detect that you may have set up a value parameter incorrectly, or if your Meta pixel has recently started sending events from new domains.

Actions you can take on issues

You can either resolve or ignore each issue:

  • Resolve the issue: Follow the instructions on the issue to resolve it. If we don't detect the issue the following day, we automatically move the issue to Previously detected. For issues related to web and app events, you can also mark the issue as resolved to move it to Previously detected. If we detect the issue again after three days, we'll move it back to Active.
  • Ignore the issue: Ignore an active issue by clicking in the top right-hand corner of the issue and selecting Ignore. This will move the issue to the Ignored tab.

Note: When you click Ignore or Mark as resolved on web and app issues, the change will be applied for everyone in the Meta Business Manager. When you click Ignore on offline issues, the issue will only be ignored for you and not others in your Business Manager. Mark as resolved isn't currently available for offline events.
