How to control which products appear in your shop on Facebook and Instagram
Beginning 10 August 2023, you'll no longer be able to host a shop on your Facebook or Instagram account or use Facebook product tagging in posts.Learn more.
By default, all items from your catalogue are automatically included in your shop on Facebook and Instagram. You can choose to hide or show specific products in your shop from the Items or Shops tabs in Commerce Manager.
Note: Hiding a product from your shop is different from archiving it. Products that are hidden from your shop can still appear in ads. Archived products won't appear anywhere.
Before you begin
- Set up a shop on Facebook or Instagram.
- You'll need the manage commerce account or manage shops permission, as well as the manage catalogue permission. Learn about permissions in Commerce Manager.
- Remember that products may not be shown in your shop if they have issues. For example, if they don't comply with our policies or have missing or invalid details.
Hide or show products in your shop from the Items tab
To hide or show products in your shop from the Items tab:
- Go to Commerce Manager and select your catalogue.
- Open the Catalogue tab and go to Items.
- Find and click on a product to open its product details.
- Click Shops.
- Control whether to hide or show the item (and any variants it has) in your shops:
- To show or hide the item in one or more shops, toggle on Allow item to be used for Shops. Toggle on any shops listed below where you want to show the product. Toggle off any shops where you want to hide the product.
- To hide the item from all of your shops, toggle off Allow item to be used for Shops.
Hide or show products in your shop from the Shops tab
To hide or show products in your shop from the Shops tab:
- Go to Commerce Manager and select your shop.
- Go to the Shops tab and click Edit shop.
- Click Settings and then Inventory.
- Click Review products in shop:
- To hide a product in this shop, click
. The product (and any variants it has) will be hidden from this shop even if it's in a collection that's been added to the shop or if it's featured on the shop's home page. - To show a product in this shop, click
.
Note: A limited number of businesses may also see the following settings under Inventory to control which products are automatically included in your shop:
- Default (recommended): All products in your catalogue are automatically included in your shop. You can still choose to manually hide any specific products that you don't want shown.
- Advanced: Products in your catalogue aren't automatically included in your shop. Products only appear in your shop if you feature them on your shop's home page, add them to a collection that's in your shop, tag them in a post or manually show them.
