About Meta's advertising policy on Discriminatory Practices
Our Advertising Standards don't allow advertisers to run ads that discriminate against individuals or groups of people based on personal attributes such as race, ethnicity, colour, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family status, disability or medical or genetic condition. This means that advertisers may not (1) use our audience selection tools to (a) wrongfully target specific groups of people for advertising or (b) wrongfully exclude specific groups of people from seeing their ads; or (2) include discriminatory content in their ads.
To run ads across our technologies, you'll need to follow our policy on Discriminatory Practices. We may periodically ask you to review the policy to certify that you understand it and agree to comply with it.
This policy is especially important for advertisers who run housing, employment or credit ads. Opportunities presented in these types of ads must be inclusive and extended to all groups of people, regardless of certain personal attributes such as those listed above. Many locations have laws that specifically prohibit discrimination in these categories.
If we ask you to certify your compliance to our non-discrimination policy, you'll have to do so before your ads can be approved. If you don't certify compliance, they may be rejected. If you receive an ad rejection notification, you'll have the opportunity to certify compliance then.
Why we ask you to do this
We're actively working to strengthen our review process and continue to enforce our ad policies against discriminatory behaviour across our technologies. We remain committed to making sure that we're building technologies that allow for more meaningful connections between people and businesses. We believe that this certification process aligns with these goals and principles.
