Set up maximise value of conversions in your SKAdNetwork configuration
If you use Apple's SKAdNetwork API to reach people on iOS 14.5 and later and you want to use maximise value of conversions, turn on maximise value of conversions in Events Manager and enable a value set for each purchase event that you want to maximise for value. You need to turn on maximise value of conversions in your app event configuration for SKAdNetwork, but you don't need to turn on maximise value of conversions for events sent through Aggregated Event Measurement.
Note: You can use maximise value of conversions for an event outside of those that you prioritise for iOS 14.5 and later devices in Events Manager. In that case, you don't have to turn on maximise value of conversions and enable a value set in Events Manager. However, then you may not be able to reach people who may not have provided ATT permission.
If you send app events through SKAdNetwork, follow these steps to set up maximise value of conversions and reach people using iOS 14.5 and later devices:
- Set up an integration, such as the Conversions API or Facebook SDK, that sends and optimises for purchase events with tracking values.
- Once your integration has started sending data, Meta can determine a value set for your chosen optimisation event. This is done automatically in your app event configuration for SKAdNetwork, unless you choose to customise your app event configuration. A value set groups conversions for maximise value of conversions and helps our system determine the value of those conversions. To ensure that you have sufficient data for Meta to determine a value set for your chosen event, your integration should meet the eligibility requirements for maximise value of conversions.
- Now that you have sufficient data, you can turn on maximise value of conversions in Events Manager and activate your value sets when you configure app events for SKAdNetwork. We automatically determine value set ranges unless you choose to customise your app event configuration for SKAdNetwork.
- Once maximise value of conversions has been turned on in Events Manager, you can create a campaign or ad set with value optimisation in Ads Manager. You can see results in the ROAS column of the reporting table in Ads Manager.
Note: When you turn on maximise value of conversions, you will use at least four of the event slots available to configure in Events Manager under SKAdNetwork. This is because we need at least four value ranges for maximise value of conversions to work, and each range takes up one event slot. Learn more about value sets and event priority.
