About catalogues in Commerce Manager
A catalogue is a container that holds information about the items that you want to advertise or sell across Facebook and Instagram. The platform to create and manage your catalogue is Commerce Manager. You can create catalogues for different types of items, such as products, hotels, flights, destinations, property listings or vehicles.
We recommend that you use one catalogue for all of your items instead of creating multiple catalogues. This helps you manage your items more efficiently and build your audience.
After you've created a catalogue, you can:
- Add and manage your items, including details such as titles, images, descriptions, prices, variants and more. Upload items one by one or in bulk.
- Create sets or collections, which are groups of items from your catalogue that you want to feature in your ads or shop on Facebook or Instagram.
- Assign permissions so that other people or partner businesses can work on your catalogue.
- Upload country and language information so people automatically see the correct item information and prices for their country or language in your ads or shop.
Create ads to promote items in your catalogue
You can run various types of ads that use your catalogue from Meta Ads Manager, including:
- Meta Advantage+ catalogue ads: Advantage+ catalogue ads (formerly known as dynamic ads) automatically show relevant items from your catalogue to people based on their interests, intent and actions online. To run them, you'll need to connect your catalogue to your Meta pixel or SDK. Learn how to create an Advantage+ catalogue ad.
- Collection ads: Collection is an ad format that shows four items from your catalogue under a hero image or video. People can click on items to learn more or browse similar items. Learn how to create a collection ad.
- Carousel ads: Carousel is an ad format that shows multiple images or videos that people can scroll through, each with its own link. You can choose to fill the carousel cards dynamically with items from your catalogue. Learn how to create a carousel ad.
- Ads with product tags: You can create ads with product tags to promote specific items in your catalogue. People can click on the product tags to go to a product details page where they can learn more about or buy the item. Learn how to create an ad with product tags.
- Collaborative ads: If your brand sells items through a participating merchant, collaborative ads allow you to run direct sales campaigns. Your merchant partner shares a segment of their catalogue with your business, which you can use to run Advantage+ catalogue ads.
Sell items from your catalogue with Shops
If you sell physical goods, you can also set up a shop on Facebook or Instagram in Commerce Manager:
- Shops: Shops are a digital storefront across Facebook and Instagram. You can customise your shop and feature collections of products. On Instagram, you can also tag products from your catalogue in your posts and stories with Instagram Shopping. Learn how to set up a shop and about catalogue eligibility requirements for Shops. Note that you can only connect one catalogue to your shop and you can't switch catalogues later.
