How to verify your business on Meta

Meta Verified for businesses is a paid subscription service. Learn more and sign your business up for Meta Verified.

Not every business needs to go through business verification. You only need to verify your business if you want to access certain Meta technologies or developer features.

Learn more about when to complete business verification.

Before you begin

  • You can only start the verification process if your business portfolio is eligible for verification.
  • If you can't see the Start verification button in the Security Centre but believe your business needs to be verified, confirm that the product or feature you're trying to access requires business verification. If you received a notification or email saying you need to verify your business, you may refer to that for instructions on how to get started.
  • You must have full control of the business portfolio.
  • If you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, attempt to claim and verify a business you're not authorised to represent, or otherwise attempt to circumvent Meta's verification review system, Meta may prevent your business from being verified, remove your business's verified status or take additional action on the account.

Note: The Meta business account, sometimes called a Business Manager account, is being renamed to business portfolio. This change will appear gradually across Meta technologies.

How to verify your business

  1. Go to Business Manager's Security Centre. Click Start verification.

Note: You may have received a notification to begin verification in another platform, such as Meta Ads Manager, Commerce Manager and the App Developer Dashboard.
  2. Provide your business's details, including the legal business name, address, phone number and website.

Note: Make sure that the details you submit exactly match the details of your legal business entity. Also make sure that your business's website loads and is HTTPS compliant.
  3. Confirm your business's details.

If no matching record is found, upload supporting documents, such as a business licence or articles of incorporation, to confirm the details you entered.
  4. Choose a method to confirm your connection.

A confirmation code will be sent if you choose email, phone, text message or WhatsApp. To confirm via domain verification, follow these steps.
    • Email (The domain of your business email address must match the domain of your website.)
    • Phone number
    • Text message
    • WhatsApp message
    • Domain verification (You must have admin access to your site's web host or DNS provider.)
  5. When you've finished, click Done.

Verification decision

After you've submitted your verification, a decision can be made in as little as 10 minutes and as long as 14 working days. You'll receive a notification when the review is complete. If you receive confirmation that your business is verified, there's nothing more you need to do.

You can edit your business details at any time. But any changes will require you to complete the business verification process again.

If you're having trouble after submitting your verification, troubleshoot why your business can't be verified.

Frequently asked questions about verification

After I submitted my business details, I saw a list of business records. What should I choose if none of the businesses listed match?

If we can find a public record that matches your business details, you will see a list of business records. You may either select the correct record from the list or select My business isn't listed or None of these match.

I tried to confirm my connection using a phone number but did not receive a confirmation code. What now?

If you don't get the confirmation code, you can request another code. If you're still having problems getting your confirmation code, learn how to troubleshoot phone call issues.

Do I need to submit documents if I use monthly invoicing to pay for ads?

If you use monthly invoicing to pay for ads, you don't need to submit documentation for business verification. When you start the business verification process, you can fill in the form with your line of credit information and submit it. If you can't see that option, make sure that the business portfolio you're trying to verify is linked to a credit line that you own, not one that is shared with another business.
