Some messaging metrics unavailable

Due to new privacy rules in Europe and Japan, some messaging metrics may be unavailable. This means that certain performance reporting metrics for ads delivered to and from Europe or Japan will be unavailable. Other messaging features that will be affected include:

Messaging-related metrics

Historical data will continue to be available in reporting surfaces for all locations, but certain metrics may no longer be logged and reported for businesses based in Europe or Japan.

For businesses outside Europe or Japan that receive messages from both affected and non-affected locations, messaging-related metrics may display partial data relating to the unaffected locations.

Metrics that may be affected include:

Meta Ads Manager and Ads Reporting

Messaging engagement metrics

  • Messaging conversation started
  • Messaging connections
  • New messaging connections
  • New blocked messaging connections
  • Cost per messaging conversation started

Conversion metrics with a messaging component

  • On-Facebook purchase (including API and reported purchases, such as mark as paid)
  • On-Facebook leads
  • Appointments scheduled

View results page and boosted posts

  • Messaging conversation started
  • Cost per messaging conversation started

Meta Business Suite

Ads

  • Messaging conversation started
  • Cost per messaging conversation started

Commerce insights

  • Messaging and message-related metrics
  • Session and session-based metrics

  • New conversations
