Create ads that click to Instagram chats in Ads Manager

Certain messaging-related metrics, ad campaigns and organic messaging features for businesses and ads delivered to and from Europe and Japan will be unavailable.

Ads that click to Instagram chats are shown in Instagram Feed or Stories and allow people to start a message thread with your business by clicking on your ad. Here you can interact with people directly to complete purchases, answer questions or offer support.
Note: You can't target ads that click to Instagram chats to people under the age of 18.
Before you begin
- Create an Instagram Business account.
- If you do not have a Facebook Page, you will need to create a Business Manager account and add an Instagram account to your Business Manager.
Create an ad
To create an ad that will click to Instagram in Ads Manager:
- Go to Ad creation within Ads Manager.
- Click the Create button.
- Select the engagement objective.
- In the Message destination section, select Instagram. Note: If you do not have an available Instagram account to select, you can connect one here.
- Edit your audience, placements, budget and schedule, and click Next.
- Select your ad format and complete your ad setup.
- Under Message template, choose to either Create new or Use existing template.
- Click + Create to create your flow. Click Save and finish when you've completed.
- Finish editing your ad. To publish, click Publish.
Once approved, your ad will start appearing in selected placements. When someone clicks on the ad, it will open in Instagram chats.
