The holidays are here! More of us take leave from work, Christmas is upon us, and New Year celebrations are just around the corner.
While it’s an opportune time to take a break, it’s also a great moment to find ways to boost engagement in your Facebook communities - and turn to your group for inspiration and support.
This holiday season, start a poll, but make it holiday-themed! Include the hashtag #holidayspoll and pose a fun question in your group to invite cross-cultural conversation.
From asking your community how they celebrate at this time of year, to fun polls ranking favorite holiday snacks, create a poll today. Your members can also suggest Community Chats directly to you, helping them to express what matters to them and form closer connections.
Polls are also a great way to draw less active members, who might prefer not to post a comment but are happy to vote in a poll, into the conversation.
How to create a Poll in your group:
- Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
- Tap Write something...
- Scroll down and select Poll.
- Enter a question and add options for group members to select.
- Tap Post.
The text of a poll can't be edited once people start voting. To edit a poll you created before people have started voting, tap the three dots, then Edit post. Poll creators and group admins can add or delete poll options anytime.
Only group members and admins can vote on polls.
If you don't see this option available in your group, it could be because the group admins don't allow this kind of post in your group. If you're an admin, learn how to manage this feature in your group.
Happy polling - and happy holidays!
