About Meta's advertising policy on unsafe substances

Meta wants to protect people from illicit or potentially unsafe drugs, products or supplements that may be harmful to them. This is why we don't allow advertisers to run ads that promote the sale or use of illicit or recreational drugs, or other unsafe substances, products or supplements, as determined by Meta.

Unsafe substances include but aren't limited to:

  • Anabolic steroids
  • Chitosan
  • Comfrey
  • Dehydroepiandrosterone
  • Ephedra
  • Human growth hormones

Note that under this policy we also prohibit ads that promote drug-related paraphernalia, including bongs, rolling papers and vaporised delivery devices.

Examples of violating ads
