Advertising policy basics checklist

We're committed to creating a safe and positive experience for people across our technologies. To help foster this, we review ads against our Advertising Standards, which prohibit harmful, inappropriate and other types of violating content.

It's important to become familiar with our policies to run a compliant ad on our technologies. To help understand these policies, we've put together a checklist that highlights selected policy requirements to bear in mind when creating your ads.

Bear in mind that this isn't an exhaustive list of all of our advertising policies.

  • It doesn't contain sexually suggestive, shocking, misleading or disruptive (e.g. pop-up ads) content.
  • The volume of ads isn't disproportionate relative to the site's content.
  • It's clearly accessible and relevant to your ad.
