Test your app or web browser events using the test events tool

If you use the Facebook SDK, a Mobile Measurement Partner, the App Events API or the Meta pixel to send app or website events to Meta, you can use the test events tool in Meta Events Manager. The test events tool enables you to:
- Check that you've set up your app and web browser events correctly and we've received them.
- Debug any unusual activity.
- For web events only: Check that you set up deduplication correctly by seeing which events are processed, and which are deduplicated.
To test your app or web browser events using the test events tool:
- Go to Events Manager.
- Click the
Data sources icon on the left-hand side of the page.
- Select the name and ID of your data.
Click Test events. For website events: Activity is only recorded while the test events web page is kept open.
- For website events:
- Find the Browser events section (this section is called website events if you selected a dataset in step 3).
- Enter your website URL and click Open website. This opens your website in a separate window or tab.
- For app events:
- Open your app on your phone.
Interact with your app or website to test the events you've already set up. Your interactions will soon appear in the Test events tab.
(Optional) Click on the filter icon to select what activity types and details are displayed. You can filter by:
Activity types- Automatically logged pixel events: Can include HTML meta-data, pixel-specific data, button-click data and page metadata.
- Automatically logged app events: Can include when your app is installed or launched and when a purchase is processed.
- URL
- Parameters
- Active issues: Can include errors and warnings related to your event setup.
- (Optional) Click Clear activity when you've finished testing events. The activity will still appear in your Meta Events Manager, Ads Reporting and audience creation results.
Any test information will remain in the Test events tab for 24 hours or until you've cleared it. If your events don't appear in test events, you can troubleshoot your error messages.
Note: It may take 30 minutes or more after you've initially set up your event to see data in your analytics. You can still use the test events tool in the meantime to verify the event.
